Seized Contaminated Blood Bags in Ouanaminthe

An unprecedented public health security operation was launched by the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP) following the shocking seizure of 27 blood bags in Ouanaminthe, a border town, on October 13th. Meticulous tests and analyses revealed that these bags were severely contaminated with HIV (AIDS) and hepatitis B viruses, raising deep concerns among health authorities and the local population.

This alarming discovery has compelled the MSPP to take immediate measures to raise public awareness about the importance of remaining vigilant when it comes to blood products from other countries. The ministry strongly reiterates the strict prohibition of acquiring or receiving blood or blood derivatives outside of official distribution channels and duly authorized healthcare facilities.

HIV and hepatitis B are serious infections that can be transmitted through contaminated blood. The risks associated with the use of untested or unverified blood products are substantial, endangering the health and lives of patients who depend on them.

As a result, the MSPP strongly urges the population to demand rigorous verification from healthcare personnel before any blood or blood product injection.
