Port-au-Prince: several armed men are killed (Police)
An apparent calm is felt in downtown Port-au-Prince after intense clashes between armed gangs of G-9 and G-Pèp who constantly compete for control of the territory. The police, in their intervention, claim to have stopped several bandits.
“Several of these thugs, armed with assault rifles, were fatally injured in exchanges of fire with the Police in downtown Port-au-Prince yesterday Wednesday, July 28, 2022, while others were apprehended and will be brought to justice. Vehicles were seized,” police authorities said in a statement.
Specialized units were quickly deployed in some neighborhoods and reinforced in others to prevent these criminals from achieving their ends, the statement continued.
