Edwine Tonton arrested for corruption
The Director General of the Social Assistance Fund was arrested on Tuesday after being heard by the investigating judge, Jean Wilner Morin. Edwine Tonton was invited by the judge for her involvement in cases of corruption within the institution she headed.

Edwine Tonton has been charged with influence peddling and corruption, according to a report by the Anti-Corruption Unit.
Note that the former accountant of the Caisse d’Assistance Sociale was arrested for his involvement in cases of corruption, we learned. The name of Pierre Richard Valles was mentioned in this same report.
