On Friday, February 9th, a federal court in Florida sentenced Joseph Vincent, a Haitian-American, to life imprisonment for his involvement in the assassination of former President Jovenel Moïse. This information was reported by the Miami Herald.

According to the newspaper’s statements, Mr. Vincent admitted his participation in several meetings related to the planning of the former President Moïse’s assassination. The accused also expressed apologies before the court for his actions.

This conviction comes in the context of a complex case where 11 people have been indicted. Joseph Vincent thus becomes the fifth individual to be convicted in this case, joining the names of Joseph Joël John, Rodolphe Jaar, Germán Alejandro Rivera Garcia, alias “Colonel Mike,” and Mario Antonio Palacios Palacios.
