Mackenlo François, the third gang leader, operating in the district called “Nan Remy”, located in the town of Croix-des-Bouquets, was fatally injured in exchanges of fire with the police. This individual was in possession of a revolver during this operation.
This powerful gang leader was part of a criminal organization, according to testimonies collected from citizens, and sowed terror in the said neighborhood.
For several weeks now, the National Police, on the instructions of the acting Commander-in-Chief Frantz ELBE, has been stepping up its operations, increasing its patrols, thus establishing an imposing police presence across the country, particularly in the Haitian capital whose objective is to hunt down the thugs in order to put them out of harm’s way.
