Gros-Morne: The unyielding terror of ‘Kokorat san ras’ gang strikes again

The commune of Gros-Morne, situated in Haiti’s Artibonite department, has once again been engulfed in violence. On Tuesday, August 27, 2024, a vicious attack by the notorious gang “Kokorat san ras” resulted in the death of at least one person, while several others were abducted. This latest atrocity adds to a growing list of attacks that have left the region’s residents in a state of perpetual fear.

This gang, infamous for its ruthless tactics, has repeatedly targeted Gros-Morne. Just last weekend, another deadly assault claimed six lives. The perpetrators not only took lives but also wreaked havoc on the community by setting fire to homes and gardens, leaving a trail of devastation.
