Haitian senator narrowly escaped death

Armed men attacked, this Tuesday, February 7, the former senator of the Center department, Dieuseul Simon Desras, in Bon Repos. His car was riddled with bullets. Sources reported that he is injured and is being treated in hospital.

If the former parliamentarian escaped death, his driver was shot in the neck. This attack once again proves the seriousness of the security climate in Haiti.

Kidnapping cases have been on the rise since the start of 2023.
