Jamaica wants to help Haiti fight against armed gangs
This Tuesday, January 31, 2023, the Jamaican Prime Minister announced that his country is ready to deploy soldiers and police to Haiti to fight the armed groups that terrorize the Haitian population.
“Jamaica would be willing to participate in a multinational security assistance deployment to Haiti within the appropriate jurisdictional parameters to support a reasonable level of stability and peace that would be necessary for any inclusive democratic process to take root,” says Mr Andrew Holness.

Since October 2022, the Haitian government has made a request to deploy a military force to the UN, a request which, until this moment, has not received a favorable response.
