Peaceful march: they demand the release of Jean Thony Lorthé

Dozens of journalists and other press workers demonstrated on Tuesday to demand the release of Radio Vision-2000 journalist Jean Thony Lorthé, who was kidnapped on February 3 in Laboule 12 by Ti Makak’s men while he was was going to a loved one’s funeral.

“Journalists do not have this large sum of money demanded by the thugs,” chanted the demonstrators. We only have our microphone, pen and notebook, they added.

They walked several streets of Port-au-Prince, while denouncing the passivity of the government in the context of this file. Arriving in front of the premises of the Ministry of Communication, they criticized the laxity of the authorities.
