The American hospital ship USNS Comfort announces the temporary suspension of medical care to the population of the Department of Grand’Anse. This decision is taken after 19 people, including 12 soldiers and 7 civilians, fell into the water in the middle of a big wave on Monday evening.

The action happened on Monday night and involved 12 service members and 7 civilians from the USNS Comfort returning on board after treating patients, according to US Navy spokesman Lewis Preddy. The 19 victims were brought back in a small boat.
