CPT Urges PM to Act on Sanctioned Individuals

The Transitional Presidential Council (CPT) has renewed its call for Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé to take urgent judicial action against individuals sanctioned by the international community. According to the CPT, this move is essential to demonstrate Haiti’s commitment to combating corruption, money laundering, and impunity, in line with its international obligations.
Fritz Alphonse Jean, president of the council, emphasized the need for the Prime Minister to submit a detailed report listing all sanctioned individuals. He stressed that this report is key to ensuring transparency and restoring confidence in the Haitian state among its international partners. The CPT said it will closely monitor how this request is handled, considering it a top priority.
It is worth noting that this demand is not new. In February, Lesly Voltaire, then a member of the council, had already submitted a similar request to Prime Minister Fils-Aimé. However, no concrete action has been taken since, raising concerns about the transitional government’s failure to respond effectively to calls for justice and accountability.
