Haitian Police Strike Gang Stronghold in Delmas
The Haitian National Police (PNH) carried out a major operation on Monday, January 19, 2026, in the Tokyo area of Delmas 2, a stronghold of the gang led by “Chalè.” The intervention resulted in the neutralization of at least six suspected gang members, with several others wounded.
Law enforcement officers also destroyed vehicles used by the criminals.During the raid, the police seized a significant cache of equipment, including drones, handguns, assault rifles, large quantities of ammunition, as well as uniforms and bulletproof vests.
These findings highlight the high level of organization and resources within the criminal network.
Authorities confirmed that operations will continue in downtown Port-au-Prince and Bas-Delmas, as part of a broader strategy to restore public order and reassert state control over key urban zones.
