Joseph Lambert and Youri Latortue sanctioned by Canada

The Canadian authorities have sanctioned the President of the Senate, Joseph Lambert and the former senator from Artibonite, Youri Latortue, it is the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Melany Joly, who announced the news.

These sanctions fall within the framework of the measures taken by the international community to punish all those who hinder the peace process in Haiti.

As a reminder, the UN Security Council unanimously voted for a resolution aimed at punishing gang members and those who finance them.

According to the US State Department, Lambert and Latortue use their position to facilitate drug trafficking and to collaborate with criminal networks.
