Leslie Voltaire assumes leadership of the CPT amid heightened political tensions
On Monday, Leslie Voltaire officially took office as President of the Presidential Transition Council (CPT) at Villa d’Accueil.
The event was marked by the notable absence of outgoing president Edgard Leblanc Fils, raising concerns about internal divisions within the council.Adding to the unease was the absence of U.S. and French ambassadors, hinting at a possible diplomatic distancing.
Despite this, Voltaire received backing from key figures in Fanmi Lavalas, signaling some local political support.
As Haiti navigates this challenging transition, doubts remain over the council’s unity and stability.
