One chef, one nation, one record

With pride and admiration, Haitians across the globe are celebrating an extraordinary accomplishment: Chef Leen Excellent has officially completed 192 consecutive hours of cooking, setting a new Guinness World Record in Saint-Denis, France.

For eight non-stop days, Leen brought the soul of Haiti into her kitchen, preparing over 300 traditional Haitian dishes—from diri djondjon and mayi moulen to lalo, boulettes, sos pwa, akasan, and crunchy papitas. Every meal was a tribute to our roots. Every hour was a testament to her discipline, her passion, and her unwavering love for her culture.

Dressed in a chef’s jacket embroidered with her name and surrounded by the Haitian flag, she cooked tirelessly with pride and purpose. Her space was decorated with Haitian colors and messages in Creole, broadcasting a powerful message to the world: Haitian cuisine is art, heritage, and excellence.

But this was more than a personal feat. Leen Excellent has become a national symbol of resilience, creativity, and cultural pride. Her culinary marathon not only showcased our gastronomy on the world stage—it inspired a generation of young Haitian chefs to believe in their dreams and reach beyond borders.

The Haitian government, the diaspora, and countless fans on social media have applauded her achievement. Leen is more than a chef—she is an ambassador, a cultural warrior, a flame of Haitian pride that now shines even brighter on the world stage.

Thank you, Leen. You did it for all of us. You made Haiti shine.
