PNH Regains Control After Armed Attack on Furcy Police Substation

On the night of May 8, 2025, a group of heavily armed individuals launched a coordinated attack on the police substation in Kenscoff, aiming to disrupt public order and seize control of the facility.

The assault, which occurred under the cover of darkness, caused panic among local residents.The Haitian National Police (PNH) reacted swiftly. Specialized units were deployed to the scene, engaging in a well-coordinated counter-offensive.

After several hours of tension, the PNH successfully repelled the attackers and regained full control of the substation. According to official reports, no officers were injured during the operation.During the cleanup operation, several weapons and large quantities of ammunition were seized—abandoned by the fleeing assailants.

The PNH praised the courage, professionalism, and discipline demonstrated by its officers during the crisis.To prevent any further attacks, additional patrols and checkpoints have been set up across the commune.

Authorities are also urging residents to remain alert and report any suspicious activity.This incident is the latest in a string of attacks targeting public institutions in Haiti.

Despite ongoing security challenges, the PNH reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to defending state infrastructure and ensuring the safety of the population.
