Prime Minister Conille to Address UN General Assembly on Haiti’s Urgent Crises

Haitian Prime Minister Garry Conille will depart the country this Friday, September 22, to attend the 79th United Nations General Assembly in New York. This annual event will convene heads of state, government leaders, and other international representatives to discuss global challenges and potential solutions amidst a backdrop of multiple crises.

Accompanied by several members of his cabinet, Prime Minister Conille plans to leverage this platform to highlight pressing issues affecting Haiti, including the security crisis, political instability, and the need for enhanced international cooperation. The recent surge in gang violence and the paralysis of public institutions have elevated these matters to the forefront of Haiti’s global agenda.

It is also expected that the Prime Minister will address the general assembly to reaffirm the Haitian government’s commitment to peace, security, and sustainable development, while appealing for more robust support from the international community to help the country navigate through its current impasse.
