The National Carnival is back

After a four-year hiatus, Haiti’s National Carnival is making a triumphant return. From March 2 to March 4, 2025, the vibrant streets of Fort-Liberté will come alive with music, dance, and colorful displays, marking a highly anticipated moment for the country’s cultural calendar.
Selected as the host city, Fort-Liberté—a town steeped in history and beauty—will showcase its unique charm to thousands of revelers. This year’s carnival represents a fresh chapter, not only for the people of Fort-Liberté but for the entire nation, as it reignites a beloved tradition that has been deeply missed.
“This is more than a festival,” said Patrick Délatour, Minister of Culture and Communication. “It’s an opportunity to celebrate our heritage, unite as a nation, and show the world the strength and creativity of Haiti.”
Plans are already underway to ensure the event’s success, with authorities focusing on security, logistics, and accommodations for visitors. The lineup promises a dynamic mix of music, dance, and artistry, with performers from across the country ready to bring their best to the grand stage.
For Haitians, the return of the National Carnival is a beacon of hope and resilience, a reminder of the country’s cultural wealth even in challenging times. As Fort-Liberté prepares to welcome the nation, the 2025 carnival is poised to be an unforgettable celebration of Haiti’s enduring spirit and creativity.
