The police regain control of the Estère police station

The National Police, in a press release, informs that it has regained control of the Estère police station abandoned by the police officers who were assigned there.

Following a show of force by members of the “Kokorat san ras” gang in the town last week, the police assigned to the Estère police station emptied the premises.

The Artibonite Departmental Director of the Police, Divisional Commissioner Roger Goodson Jeune, accompanied by several agents from the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO), regained control of the building.

An armored vehicle was also deployed around the police station to provide security.

The bandits are only gaining ground in the Artibonite department. There is, among others, the criminal gang called “Gran Grif” which controls Savien (Petite-rivière de l’Artibonite) and “Kokorat san ras”, based in a bordering locality between Gros-Morne and Bassin Bleu, which dictate their law to population.
