Three Haitian Soldiers Killed in Armed Ambush in Kenscoff

Approximately three members of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H) were killed and several others injured on Sunday morning in an armed attack in the commune of Kenscoff.

According to preliminary reports, the soldiers were aboard an unarmored pickup truck on their way to provide reinforcements in a tense area when they came under heavy fire. The lack of proper protection left them vulnerable to the ambush.

Just a day earlier, on Saturday, security forces had reportedly deployed multiple explosive drones in the same zone. However, no official casualty report has yet been released from that operation.

This deadly incident once again highlights the growing insecurity in Haiti and raises serious concerns about the military’s preparedness and equipment in the face of increasingly aggressive armed groups. Kenscoff, known until recently as a relatively quiet area, appears to be the latest target of expanding violence.

Government officials have not yet issued a statement regarding the attack. An investigation is expected to be launched to determine who was responsible and how such a deadly assault occurred.
