Towards strengthening security around schools

An important meeting was held this Thursday afternoon at the Ministry of Justice and Public Security around the security crisis affecting schools and the measures to be adopted to deal with it.

At this meeting held under the leadership of the Ministers of Justice and Public Security Emmelie PROPHÈTE MILCÉ and of National Education and Vocational Training Nesmy MANIGAT, took part in particular directors of public, private and religious schools, teachers’ unions and police authorities.

It was an opportunity for the Minister of Justice and Public Security to give instructions to the police officers present, so that they take prompt measures for a massive deployment of specialized units in the perimeters of the schools and learning centers, with a view to restoring a climate of security conducive to the continuation of classes.

The MJSP warned in a note dated March 8 the authors, co-authors and accomplices of threats, kidnapping, that they will be prosecuted and punished in accordance with the law.

The Ministry of Justice and Public Security puts all possible means at the disposal of the Police to deal with this unprecedented and blind violence which affects all sectors and calls on citizens to a duty of resistance.
