Two Haitian-Americans kidnapped in Port-au-Prince

Kidnapping of a Haitian-American couple in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince for about a week. They are Jean-Dickens Toussaint and his wife, Abigail Toussaint.

400,000 US dollars is the sum claimed by the kidnappers to free the two hostages, report US media citing relatives of the victims.

No one is spared by this wave of kidnappings orchestrated by armed gangs. No effort on the part of the police to curb this drift. The people are on their own. Kidnapping becomes a thriving industry.
