Across the country citizens demonstrated against insecurity and the high cost of living
The call for mobilization was respected by almost the 10 departments of the country. In Cap-Haitien, in the North, members of the population took to the streets to denounce the government’s inability to resolve the economic crisis, the fuel shortage and banditry.
In the Nippes, the population did not hide its anger. In Léogâne, in Petit Goâve the situation was the same. Protesters demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry. In Gonaïves, in the Artibonite department, the protesters were angry.
In Port-au-Prince barricades of burning tires were observed in Delmas, downtown Petion-ville, Lalue and other areas surrounding the capital. Two deaths are recorded including a member of the organization ESKLAV REVOLTE, the circumstances of this act are still unknown.
