Former senator sentenced to life imprisonment
This Tuesday, former Senator John Joël Joseph, aged 53, was sentenced to life imprisonment by a federal court in Florida, USA, for his alleged role in the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moïse. President Jovenel Moïse was assassinated in his private residence in Port-au-Prince in July of this year, creating a political void and leading to massive protests throughout the country.
