Presidential Council mandate duration unveiled: A step towards political transition
During the council of ministers meeting, a draft decree was submitted specifying the maximum duration of the Presidential Council’s mandate to eighteen (18) to twenty-four (24) months. This announcement marks a significant milestone in the ongoing political transition process.
According to the terms of the draft decree, the Presidential Council will not be eligible for any mandate extension beyond this established period. This measure aims to ensure an effective political transition and foster democratic and transparent governance.
Another major provision of this document is the prohibition for members of the Presidential Council to run for any position during the elections to be organized by this executive power transition. This decision aims to ensure fairness and integrity in the electoral process, avoiding any conflicts of interest or potential interference.
