National Sanitation Campaign: SNGRS Intensifies Cleanup Operations in Tabarre
TABARRE, November 4, 2026 – The National Solid Waste Management Service (SNGRS) is stepping up its sanitation efforts as part of a nationwide cleanup campaign. On Wednesday, November 4, the institution’s Director General, Daril Balthazar, visited the municipality of Tabarre to supervise waste collection and drainage channel cleaning operations in an area particularly vulnerable to flooding.
The operation is part of a coordinated effort involving the SNGRS, municipal administrations across the metropolitan area, and the Haitian National Police. The task force is mobilized to collect solid waste, clean public spaces, and clear drainage channels to improve sanitation conditions.
During his visit, Daril Balthazar paid particular attention to the dredging and cleaning work along Millet Ravine. These operations are intended to facilitate rainwater drainage and reduce the risk of flooding, especially during periods of heavy rainfall. Representatives of the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPTC) were also present.
The SNGRS Director General praised the cooperation and warm reception provided by Tabarre’s municipal authorities. For his part, the Mayor of Tabarre welcomed the initiative and thanked Daril Balthazar for the support provided by the institution.
Furthermore, a joint waste collection program provides for two collection operations per week, carried out by the SNGRS in collaboration with the municipal administration. This initiative aims to improve waste management, ensure more regular garbage collection, and contribute to healthier living conditions for residents.
