Haiti – Bad weather: several neighborhoods flooded

Haiti is not under the threat of a cyclone or a tropical wave. The weather disturbance is due to moisture-filled convective cells that bring downpours over the land.

The rains will continue to fall on the country, informs Marcelin Esterlin, Coordinator of the Hydro-Meteorological Unit of Haiti. For his part, the Prime Minister, Ariel Henry, calls on everyone to show solidarity during these bad weather in order to save lives at this difficult time.

These officials gave a press briefing this Saturday on the situation.

Note that this Saturday, June 3, several places in the capital were flooded. A landslide took place in Marlique, a district of Pétion-ville. The city of Léogâne was under water. At Sainte Croix hospital, some patients are being evacuated due to flooding, according to local media.
