Haiti receives first shipment of cholera vaccines

A first shipment of cholera vaccines, containing 1.17 million doses, entered Haiti on Monday. These vaccines will serve to slow the progression of the disease which has already caused at least 281 deaths in the country, according to the Pan American Health Organization.

In order to stem the disease of cholera in the country, the Haitian health authorities received last Monday more than one million doses of vaccines against the epidemic. According to a statement from the Pan American Health Organization, another 500,000 doses of the vaccine will arrive in the coming days.

The vaccination campaign will begin in Site Soleil then Delmas, Tabarre, Carrefour and Port-au-Prince.
