Over 50 undocumented Haitians arrested in the Dominican Republic


This Saturday, the Dominican Republic border police announced that they had arrested 57 undocumented Haitians in Elías Piña. After their arrest, they were handed over to the competent authorities for the necessary follow-up.

The Dominican President, Luis Abinader, shunned the request made by the United Nations through the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. The UN wanted the countries of the region not to expel the Haitians because of the crisis in Haiti.
