
In France, a tribute ceremony to Toussaint Louverture, hero of the Haitian Revolution of 1804, took place at the Panthéon in Paris.
The Minister of National Education and Youth Pap Ndiaye, the former Prime Minister of France, Jean-Marc Ayrault, the Haitian historian, Pierre Buteau, the singer Émeline Michel, the Haitian-American actor, Jimmy Jean- Louis and singer James Germain are, among others, personalities who took part in this event.

In his speech, Pierre Buteau, president of the Society of History, Geography and Geology of Haiti, said that the memory of Toussaint Louverture remains alive through Haitians regardless of where they live.
