Arms Trafficking Case: Court of Appeal Sends Boisvert and Others to Criminal Court
The Port-au-Prince Court of Appeal has ordered several high-profile figures to stand trial before the criminal court in connection with an arms and ammunition trafficking case involving the Episcopal Church, dating back to July 2022.
According to the ruling, former Minister of Economy and Finance Michel Patrick Boisvert and former Director General of the General Administration of Customs (AGD), Julcène Edouard, are among those charged.
Pastor Dieuné Day, Father Frantz Cole, and Fritz Désiré have also been referred to trial.The case, which sparked national controversy, centers on the alleged importation of weapons hidden in a shipment officially declared as humanitarian and religious supplies.
This referral marks a significant step forward as judicial authorities seek to determine responsibilities in this sensitive case.
