Assassination of journalist Fritz Dorilas, the IAPA denounces
The Inter-American Press Association has condemned the murder of journalist Fritz Dorilas, the eighth killed this year in Haiti.
The organization underlined the insecurity in which the workers of the press work in the climate of generalized violence which strikes the country.
Fritz Dorilas, co-host of the Saturday show “Le droit, la loi et la justice” on Radio Megastar, was murdered on November 5 in the commune of Tabarre, northeast of the Haitian capital.
Dorilas was shot near his home by gunmen during clashes between gangs, according to local media. Other information indicated that the journalist had been forcibly evicted from his home in Carradeux and then executed during the shooting.
