Death of former Prime Minister Gérard Latortue
Victim of cardiac arrest or a blood circulation problem, the former Prime Minister, Gérard Latortue died on Monday February 27, 2023 at the age of 89.
The Gonaïves native was the son of René Latortue. He did all his classical studies at the Lycée des Gonaïves. Then he left to go to college.

Professor at the Faculty of Law of Port-au-Prince. In exile under the dictatorial regime of the Duvaliers, he taught at the University of Puerto Rico. He had 3 children, 3 daughters who teach in the greatest institutions in the world.
In 1970, he was responsible for a large structure of the United Nations (UNIDO). He was head of the United Nations mission in Africa on several occasions.
