The Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince denounces the kidnapping of a faithful inside the Saint Charbel Oratory, in Péguy-Ville. The abduction took place in the afternoon of Thursday April 13, 2023, after a mass presided over by the archbishop of the capital Max Leroy Mésidor.
Condemning this act, the Archdiocese demands that the State authorities take adequate measures to guarantee the safety of the lives and property of citizens.
Because of this case of kidnapping, the chaplaincy service of St Charbel’s Oratory announces the closure of St. Charbel’s Oratory until further notice.
“No mass, no meeting (rehearsal catechesis, missionary childhood meeting) no prayer visitation,” says a note from said service.
