Obtaining a passport: an organization recommends respect for children’s rights

The Organization of Hearts for Change for Destitute Children in Haiti vehemently condemns the mistreatment of children who were trying to obtain their passports through the Humanitarian Word Program.

In a press article we could see on the cover photo a child who was trying to hoist over the fence of the central immigration office in Lalue.

Recently a child was killed at the Center for the Reception and Delivery of Identity Documents in Tabarre as a result of tear gas thrown by a policeman who was trying to clear the area for him.

In this sense, the Organization asks the competent authorities to ensure that the rights of children who want to obtain their passport are respected. At all times and in all circumstances, the lives of children must be protected.

The Organization recalls that children represent the future of the country, it is a duty to protect them and give them priority in all things.
