The Apostolic Nunciature in Haiti has alerted the government to the alleged plans of the fearsome leader of the armed gang “Ti Makak”, to invade the area of Morne Calvaire in Laboule 12, where the premises of the diplomatic mission of the Holy See are located.
In the midst of these threats, the ecclesiastical office of the Catholic Church, which has the rank of embassy, sent a correspondence last Wednesday to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, informing it of the dangerous situation.
The current Apostolic Nuncio is Archbishop Francisco Escalante Molina, who was appointed to this position by Pope Francis on June 4, 2021.
Faced with the threats of the dangerous gang, the mission of the Holy See in Haiti asked the competent authorities to take the necessary measures to guarantee the safety of its personnel and property.
