Fils-Aimé Claims Progress, Sets Firm Security Conditions
Back from the United States, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé says his trip yielded tangible gains. Speaking at a press briefing on April 24, 2026, at Toussaint Louverture International Airport, he reported meetings with several members of Congress and senior U.S. officials, including Marco Rubio and Kristi Noem.
He outlined a clear agenda focused on restoring security, holding elections, and reviving the economy.
Fils-Aimé firmly rejected any approach resembling a “MMAS 2.0” repressive force, insisting instead on properly equipping the future Gang Suppression Force.
He also raised the issue of Temporary Protected Status (TPS), advocating for Haitian nationals facing hardship.
