Haitian Diplomacy Under Restructuring: Dozens of Diplomats Recalled
A significant reshuffle is underway within Haiti’s diplomatic corps, as authorities move to streamline operations across several foreign missions.
According to reliable sources, around thirty diplomats have been recalled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship (MAEC), affecting postings in the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Panama, and the United States.
These recalls are reportedly driven by a mix of administrative, strategic, and performance-related considerations, reflecting a broader effort to reorganize Haiti’s diplomatic network.Meanwhile, interim measures have been implemented in countries such as Chile and Canada, where chargés d’affaires have been appointed following the recall of ambassadors.
In Ottawa, authorities are expected to act swiftly to appoint a new ambassador or confirm an experienced interim diplomat to ensure continuity and effective representation.
