Gang Violence in Cul-de-Sac Claims Life of Rhum Barbancourt Employee, CEO Sounds Alarm

Violence continues to escalate in the Cul-de-Sac plain, where armed gangs have been spreading fear for weeks. An employee of Rhum Barbancourt was shot and killed last night amid ongoing clashes in the area.

The company’s CEO, Delphine Gardère, strongly condemned the situation, describing a humanitarian tragedy in which civilians, children, pregnant women, and entire families are being forced to flee to survive.

She criticized Haitian authorities for ignoring repeated warnings, letters, and emergency alerts sent by businesses affected by gunfire and insecurity in the zone.

According to Gardère, companies and residents have been abandoned despite the worsening crisis. “It is total terror in the Cul-de-Sac plain,” she declared with outrage.
