Cul-de-Sac Plain Descends Into Horror as Gangs Kill Civilians and Burn Homes

Fear and chaos continue to spread across the Cul-de-Sac Plain after heavily armed gangs launched violent attacks overnight, killing several civilians and setting multiple homes on fire.

Terrified residents fled the area as flames consumed entire neighborhoods, leaving families displaced and traumatized.According to members of the private sector, authorities had been warned for weeks about the growing threat but failed to act.

Major companies, including Barbancourt, Séjourné, La Couronne, and Comme Il Faut, reportedly sent urgent letters to de facto Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé requesting immediate intervention, yet received no response.

The ADIH also attempted to contact the government without success. “We are trying to see if the police can intervene, but they lack both the resources and the will,” a discouraged private sector representative told local media, denouncing the abandonment of the region.
