The United States invites American nationals to leave Haiti
US authorities are urging US nationals in Haiti to leave the country in order to avoid being victimized as the political and security situation deteriorates day by day.
“Insecurity and growing fuel shortages are hampering the ability of American citizens to find transportation to and from the Embassy and airports around the country. Do not travel to Haiti. US citizens in Haiti should seriously consider leaving,” the US State Department tweeted.
The popular mobilization that has taken place for more than two weeks against the government’s decision to increase the price of fuel on the national market has paralyzed public and economic life in Haiti.
